BEFORE YOU START

A few useful answers.

Everything you need to know before turning a camera roll into a story you can revisit and share.

Is ZapTale a printed book or a digital one?

ZapTale creates digital photobooks that you can view and share online. Turn through the pages on a phone, tablet, or computer whenever you want.

Where can I get my photos from?

ZapTale supports three sources for photos currently: your phone, computer, and Google Photos. You can create your book from memories stored in any of these locations.

How does the automatic curation work?

ZapTale helps identify blurry shots, duplicates, and near-duplicates, then builds a starting selection and layout from the photos you chose. You stay in control of the final book.

Can I change what ZapTale creates?

Yes. Automatic curation and captions are a starting point. You can swap photos, adjust crops, edit captions, and shape the book until it tells the story your way. You cannot add new pages to the book at this point. A digital photobook can contain up to 50 photos.

How do I share my photobook?

Use the share controls in your photobook to create a link, then send it to the people you want to see your story. Your book stays private, viewable only by you until you choose to share it. Once shared, edits to the book are no longer allowed. You can create a copy of your book as a new book and continue making changes to that copy.

What does ZapTale cost?

You can start for free. A paid subscription lets you keep and create more photobooks. Visit the pricing page for current plans and prices.

What happens to my photos?

Your photos remain private until you choose to share a photobook. Please review our privacy policy for details about imports, storage, Automated Curation, and deletion.
